*EDIT - friend posted this on reddit and apparently it was number five on the pokemon subreddit. in case you were wondering why this has like 9000 views. lol
From a time far into the depths of Poke' history when Poke' trainers took Poke' catching as a more shamanistic practice.
lol i dunno. when i was browsing through my old stuff earlier i dug up a really unfinished version of this and i felt like it should be finished at some point.
by the time i got done with grayscaling i was overworked though so i just slapped on some crappy gradients for color ._.'
I love it. Also your backstory bit. But since they have pokeballs, maybe it's a time far into a dystopian future, where science has been lost and only the relics remain, so catching pokemon has become something more based on luck and the blessing of gods. Because when you catch the apocalypse your future instantly becomes more tribal-esque. lol. Anyway, I like the gradient, it's cool.
This, I concur with this person. a future where pokeballs are scarce and finding one is a blessing and buying one is far and few. where being a trainer is something that has meaning rather than every joe blow and his little sister claiming to try and be one. and instead of battling each other, in this apocalyptic world, some wild pokemon have become irradiated, and are violent, more powerful, and on the attack, and it is up to the trainers to keep the hoards at bay.
The Pikachu is adorable as well
